As you maybe remember, we triumphantly won Chapter of the Year for the fifth year in a row this year. To prevent us from celebrating our victory all by ourselves, I wrote a press release to share with newspapers that may be interested with our story. Our pals down at the Tualatin Life (Tualatin’s Only “Tualatin’s Only” New Monthly. Classic.) graciously published it to spread the word.

Tualatin Future Business Leaders of America has partnered with the always wonderful Southwest Airlines to offer you, our fans and supporters and general public, a chance to win two Southwest roundtrip tickets to anywhere in the continental United States.
Please view the lovely informative flyer below, and click HERE to go to the webpage with more information on how to purchase tickets.

Congratulations on winning Chapter of the Year for the fifth year in a row!
All of your hard work with BAAs and competitions has paid off! Thank you to our amazing officer team for all of their behind the scenes work and for the many Saturdays they came in to get those State projects done. Good job, everyone! Woo!
We had many National qualifiers and many people who placed in the top ten. Soon FBLA will be releasing information about Nationals, and qualifiers have to decide whether or not they would like to attend.
Thank you, Mr. McCaffrey, for guiding us to another victory. We could not do this without you!
The testing deadline is approaching. It will be over Spring Break, so if you can, come in at any available time this week. You can test during school if you have a release or TA period (get approval from your teacher) or anytime after school this week.
The last available testing day is Monday, March 23. Mac is willing to come in from 12-3 on the 21-23 (this Saturday to Monday) if members are going to come in and test. We’ve created a sign up sheet for these days and shared it with either your given email or your school email (if you don’t have it, contact one of our officers). If you can test on one of these days, go to the Google Doc and type your name under the day. If no one signs up, Mac will not come in.
Here is the 2014-2015 Digital Scrapbook I labored over to submit for State competition. I think it wonderfully covers all the events we participated in this year. It’s been a great year so far, but there are more adventures to come this April at the State Business Leadership Conference!
2014-2015 Digital FBLA Scrapbook
“Great Gatsby, Batman! There’s still time to finish our Business Achievement Awards before the due date of March 1!”
“You’re right, Robin. And if we want to stay downtown with the rest of the chapter at State, we better finish two BAAs levels!”
“Or just Leader or America!”
“Oh boy, I sure do want to stay with the chapter at State.”
“Me too. It’s so much fun!”
“Wow. I didn’t know you could have fun, Batman?”
“Everyone can have fun at State, Robin.”
(Batman and Robin are trademark characters of DC Comics.)
Our State level competition also known as State Business Leadership Conference (SBLC) is coming up in April! It will be from Thursday the 9th to Saturday the 11th. Tualatin has Friday the 10th off, so we will only miss one day of school. At our meeting today, we will hand out some information for you to share with your parents.
Show this to your parents and get it filled out and turned in. We handed this out at the meeting. (Note: whatever you check out and turn in is final. No changes.) It is due Friday, 27 February, 2015.

Good job, everyone! You all competed well and looked super professional.
Here are the results:
Regional Skills Conference Results 14-15
This Thursday (12th) we will have a chapter meeting to cover some beginning details of State and hand out information. State will be April 9-11, that’s a Thursday thru Saturday. Start planning accordingly and budgeting for the ~$200 cost. We will hand out more detailed info at the meeting.
The Regionals Skills Competition (RSC) is this Saturday. We will have a meeting this Thursday (2/5/15) to cover all the details.
Some important things to remember for Regionals:
- Dress in business attire
- Arrive on time
- Bring a lunch or bring money to buy the lunch provided (no leaving campus for lunch)
Here is the agenda for Regionals: RSCAgenda
Note: There is also a big cheer competition going on simultaneously with regionals. We have to stay out of the athletic halls and commons. Tests will take place in the library, Mac’s room, and the tech wing. The opening session and awards will take place in the lecture hall.
Tualatin FBLA really stood true to the service aspect of our organization this Fall. We successfully collected enough food to put together 12 Thanksgiving baskets for 12 local families. Good job! Our donations really do help families. Thank you to everyone who donated food and stayed after school to wrap up all of the food.
We’ve also wrapped up of the pumpkin selling for March of Dimes. Please return all pumpkins and money to Mr. McCaffrey’s room (121).
